About

Stone in Spain is a week-long sculpting holiday for people who would like to try for the first time, or improve their current stone carving skills. Run from the village of Fortià in northern Spain, (two hours north of Barcelona) in an area with a long artistic history including Dalí and Miró.( see “Local Area”.)

The base for Stone in Spain is Hotel Ave de Paso. Run by musician Franz van der Geenen and actress Regina Sigrist, Ave de Paso is a small hotel with a really comfortable, friendly atmosphere. The couple are accustomed to being overrun by artists and musicians as many of the local artistic talent congregate there on a weekly basis to jam together and talk.
The hotel has its own pool and bar where we party and exhibit our work at the end of the week with the in-house band.
